Our Voices Are Better Together
Swindon SEND Families Voice are a Community Interest Company formed by parent and carers in January 2018. The forum feels passionately about ensuring the services in our area meet the needs of Swindon’s disabled children and their families. We are the recognised forum by the Department for Education and the National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF).
We do this by gathering the views of local families and then working in partnership with the local authorities, educational settings, health providers and many other service providers to highlight where local services and processes are working well. We are passionate and driven. We challenge where needed, when changes or improvements are to be made.
We support families by hosting free workshops and support groups, answer questions one to one over the phone, online or in person, and are a listening ear whenever we are needed.
We are delighted to welcome any parent, grandparent, carer family member or foster parent to engage with the Forum regarding their child or young person aged 0-25 regardless of their special educational need or disability (SEND). These may range from complex medical needs to challenging behaviour, learning or physical difficulties, or undiagnosed.
Please feel free to take a look around our website, which contains details about the work we do, useful resources and information for parents and carers and local service providers.
